Adam has worked with us from the very early days of One Studio helping develop our race suits and training gear. A racer who spends a lot of time thinking before he speaks. He’s a man of few words but his input into suit fit and design is considered and right on the money every time. He has been a key part of our development programme. His approach to ski racing is just as considered.

 

Although he’s young Adam has jammed a lot in to his career as a tech racing specialist so far: Represented New Zealand at three World Championships (Schladming 2013, Vail/Beaver Creek 2015 and St. Moritz 2017). One Winter Olympic Games (Sochi 2014). He’s been the overall ANC continental cup winner twice. Been named NZ Alpine Ski Athlete of the year. Crowned overall NZ National Champion three times.

 

A sweet performance saw him grab 4th spot in the FIS Slalom race to qualify for the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz. He capped his 2017 Northern hemisphere season off with a string of wins at Aspen Highlands including a Super G win. Not bad for a tech specialist. 

 

The Queenstown native was determined to make the NZ Winter Olympic team for the second time. It wasn't a surprise to see this man make it as a double Olympian. He was crowned New Zealand National Champion in both Slalom and GS during the 2018 NZ season. Adam's selection to the New Zealand National A Team starts the 2019 Northern season in the right direction.

 

Adam is just getting started as a world class ski racer and we’re stoked to be along for the ride, it just keeps getting better.

 

Favorite One Studio garment: “The Team One puffer jacket I love the stretch fabric and the custom fit means it’s super comfortable. Very versatile, I wear it on and off the mountain. Bit more heavy duty than an ordinary puffer jacket so it handles the wear and tear better.”

 

Does it make a difference being able to have input into the design of your competition clothing? “Absolutely. It means all of my clothing is the perfect fit and all my design requirements are worked through so I get the best range of comfortable movement in all my garments. Plus I get to choose designs and colours I’m comfortable with. I’ll get great input from the guys at One Studio if I can’t decide what design is best.”

Favourite place to ski? “Exploring the back country of Tahoe Lakes, California. I have some of the best powder day memories from that place.”

 

Best experience on the snow? “Competing in the 2013 World Championships at Schladming on perfect conditions and in front of a massive audience.”

 

Who inspires you? Henrik Kristoffersen, Bode Miller.
